Hello, I'm Shindana Mustin, the Executive and Founder of Granny Helping Hands. My journey began in South Central Los Angeles, California, where I pursued my education in the Greater Los Angeles area. As a mother of three wonderful daughters and grandmother to five amazing grandchildren, family has always been at the heart of my life.
In 2000, I relocated to the Antelope Valley, where I discovered my true calling in supporting developmentally disabled individuals. For 12 years, I served as a House Manager, and in 2014, I earned my Administrator Certificate. My path has not been without its challenges; as a survivor of domestic violence, I know firsthand the courage and strength required to overcome such adversity.
To God be the glory, I am here today to share my story. Behind the smile I wore daily, I faced internal struggles that only those who have experienced domestic violence can truly understand. This journey is one of immense courage, strength, and resilience—a path to emotional healing that involves untangling trauma, rebuilding self-esteem, and rediscovering personal boundaries.
Granny Helping Hands was born from my desire to support individuals—women and men—who are facing domestic violence and seeking a way forward. Through Granny Helping Hands, I aim to raise awareness and provide crucial assistance to those in need. With faith and perseverance, I believe that no obstacle is insurmountable. You are stronger than you know, and with prayer, God will pave a way forward.
Together, let us empower survivors and bring hope to those who need it most.
